March Forth

Lead From Where You Are

To lead is to initiate change, and the resistance to change is all around us. And inside us.

In March Forth, Kyle Sexton shares practical leadership lessons drawn from his career as a marketing strategist, advisor, and consultant. Through real stories from the field, he connects leadership moments to the same principles that drive successful marketing: clarity, ownership, trust, and momentum.

This keynote introduces a simple framework that helps people lead from where they are — without waiting for permission or a formal role. Kyle challenges the idea that leadership lives only at the top and shows how everyday actions can move teams, organizations, and communities forward.

March Forth is honest, grounded, and immediately useful. It is designed for leaders, emerging leaders, and anyone who wants to create progress without waiting to be “in charge.”

Leadership is movement.
Now is the time to march forth.

About Kyle Sexton

Kyle Sexton loves business. Kyle’s first business was selling dollar bills for two dollars each in middle school.

After high school, he landed a summer job as a real estate apprentice for a developer who was willing to teach him everything he knew about business.

In college, Kyle skipped lectures to study business plans. At age 19, Kyle started a house painting business with 12 employees where he learned to align employee bonuses with perfect customer ratings and testimonials.

After selling his business, Kyle began looking for leadership opportunities. He found it working for Mike McLaran at the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. It’s been said that great leaders give meaning to the work, and after a very short while working for a great leader, Kyle found the meaning in the work. This fueled many changes to the structure and model of the chamber, propelled by popular benefits and national acclaim.

The son of a teacher and coach, Kyle now coaches and teaches people who want to transform their organization’s marketing from boring to booming, from scattered to aligned, and from noisy to powerful.

Kyle's Business Bio

Kyle Sexton is an award-winning marketing strategist, speaker, and author who helps founders and business leaders rethink how they price and structure their offerings. For more than three decades, he has worked at the intersection of marketing strategy and business growth, with a specific focus on guiding companies away from flat, one-size-fits-all pricing toward tiered models that reflect what customers actually value and are willing to pay for.

His work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal and numerous industry publications, and he has spoken at national conventions and conferences across the country. Early recognition for his contributions came in 2011, when he was named one of the most influential innovators in his field, a distinction that marked the beginning of a career built on practical, hands-on guidance rather than theory.

Kyle is the author of four books on growth strategy and value-based pricing: ReMembership, ChamberThink, March Forth, and Follow You Anywhere. Across his speaking, writing, and consulting, his approach stays consistent: he works alongside the businesses he serves, not above them, helping founders navigate pricing and growth decisions with someone who has done it himself.

Kyle Chamber Bio

Kyle Sexton has spent his career on one side of the table: yours. As an award-winning marketing strategist, international speaker, and author, he's dedicated his work to membership development, marketing, and innovation in the chamber of commerce industry, because he believes chambers deserve someone in their corner who understands exactly what they're up against.

That commitment was recognized early. In 2011, Chamber Executive magazine named him one of the industry's most influential innovators, a marker that turned out to be the starting point of a much longer body of work rather than the high point. In the years since, he's built that early recognition into the depth of experience chambers rely on today.

What drives Kyle is watching a chamber that's been stuck on the same dues model for decades finally make the leap to value-based tiers, and seeing what happens to their organization once they do. He's become the industry's foremost authority on that transition, not from behind a podium, but by working alongside organizations through every step of the change. His research and methods have appeared in industry publications and been featured at national conventions and regional conferences, and his social media accelerator strategy earned coverage in The Wall Street Journal.

Kyle has written four books, ReMembership, ChamberThink, March Forth, and Follow You Anywhere, all built around the same idea: chamber leaders don't need another expert telling them what's wrong. They need a guide who's walked the path before and cares enough to walk it with them.

Audio/Visual & Room Set-Up

All visuals are built on Prezi - no PowerPoint for me. I run Prezi from my laptop only. As a back-up, Prezi can be run from the house laptop via web browser. And I always have a back-up to the back-up. I prefer to use my own remote.

Keynotes

If you've asked me to Keynote, I work with your conference A/V techies to get my laptop and audio set up on your conference system. All visuals are built on Prezi and must run from my laptop. Depending on the topic, video with audio may be in the presentation, so I can work out audio integration with your team.

Workshops

Classroom set-up is just fine for my workshops. If there are 20 or fewer in a training or board workshop, I prefer a horseshoe arrangement. This makes everyone feel equally included. Plus, if you stand at the back of the room, it looks like the tables are smiling at you.

For all workshops, I use my laptop and remote with visuals built on Prezi. Please have a flip chart available as it aids my ability to interact and improves the audience experience. I carry my own markers for the flip chart, and promise I'm improving my handwriting and diagram-illustrations.
